MATHER HOUSE
HARVARD UNIVERSITY
CAMBRIDGE, MASSACHUSETTS 02138

June 18, 2003

To whom it may concern,

I would like to voice my support for maintaining the services of William (Billy) Duarte, the evening security guard at Mather House. I have been the building superintendent in Mather House for the last five years and as of now Billy has performed his job in an outstanding fashion. Billy often goes above and beyond the call of duty.

Billy and I have a good relationship. We frequently meet before we alternate shifts to discuss building-related issues (parties, events). Although, I am not present when Billy is on duty, students and staff alike speak very highly of his performance. I have never received in any complaints nor have I had any of my own. Billy is always on time; he is extremely responsible and dependable. It is good to have someone you can count on. Hence, when you have someone with Billy's qualifications, it is hard to give him up. Billy is not only a security guard. He is friendly with the students and the staff. Moreover, he treats and is treated like family by the members of the Mather House community. We would hate to see him leave.

I put forth my most sincere and high recommendations on behalf of William Duarte, which I hope you will consider upon making any decisions. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions.
