Dear Sir or Madam,
This letter is to enthusiastically support Billy Duarte as the security guard at Mather House. I have been
a resident tutor in Mather House for six years and thus am very well acquainted with the House and the
role that the security guard should play. I would like to say in the highest possible terms that Billy has
been a truly excellent security guard in every way.
Billy is, simply put, an absolute pillar of Mather House. He has performed his job in outstanding fashion
and often gone above and beyond the call of duty. There are several ways that Billy has excelled.
First, Billy knows how to keep students under control. Having been a tutor here for several years, I have
had the experience of working with several security guards, particularly in closing large parties. Billy has
definitely been the best. Because he knows the students so well, he knows how to handle difficult
situations and how to correctly keep control. Particularly in handling rowdy students and breaking up
disorderly events, there is simply no one else I would rather have on duty than Billy. He commands the
respect of students and staff alike.
Second, Billy is a true member of the House community. One of the things that I have especially enjoyed
at Mather House is the continuity of staff. Billy is one of the longest standing members of the Mather
community and he helps make Mather the wonderful place that it is. Not having Billy here would
represent a serious loss for us. Billy offers the students and staff a friendly and respectful face that really
makes Mather the wonderful residence that it is.
I sincerely hope that you choose to keep Billy Duarte on staff here. When you walk into Mather House,
he is often the first face that you see because of where his office is stationed. Seeing Billy at his position
gives me a sense of relief whenever I walk into the courtyard. I can think of no other person that I would
rather have here. I offer him my highest recommendations. Please do not hesitate to contact me with
questions.
